We Are Ethiopia is an evening of cultural treats taking place this Friday 9th October. The concert aims to bring Ethiopia’s rich and vibrant culture to the heart of London, whilst raising awareness for Out of the Box, a non-profit project that will build adventure playgrounds and youth centres across Addis Ababa. The spectacular seated event, organised by Oshun associate Sally Duncan, will give Londoners a taste of Ethiopia’s world-renowned music, arts and performance. Headliners Krar Collective will serve up a colourful feast of mind-blowing Ethiopian grooves, fronted by Temesgen Zeleke, a former student of Ethiojazz legend Mulatu Astatke, the collective were recently featured in Damon Albarn’s Africa Express project. Award winning dance group Dan-Kira will use their dances to highlight the unique, diverse and magical culture of Ethiopia. Genna Arts Ethiopian Theatre will be providing the audience with performance art that inspires and entertains. Alongside other acts to be announced, Tom Show, Ethiopian chat show host, and Sally Duncan will guide the audience through the evening’s entertainment. We Are Ethiopia promises to be a truly memorable event.
